BATON ROUGE, La. — No. 10 LSU bounced back in a major way Saturday night, dominating No. 23 Texas A&M 35–6 at Tiger Stadium on Sept. 26.

The Tigers improved to 3–1 overall and 1–1 in SEC play, while Texas A&M fell to 2–2 and 0–2 in conference play. LSU controlled the game on both sides of the ball, holding the Aggies to just 197 total yards.

LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt delivered one of his strongest performances of the season, completing 17 of 23 passes for 312 yards and two touchdowns. Both touchdown passes went to wide receiver Jackson Harris, who finished with six catches for 163 yards.

The Tigers established control early. Dilin Jones scored on a 1-yard touchdown run, and Leavitt later connected with Harris for a 16-yard touchdown to give LSU a 14–3 advantage heading into halftime.

Texas A&M struggled to generate offense throughout the game. Quarterback Marcel Reed completed just 10 of 26 passes for 106 yards and an interception. LSU's defense also recorded four sacks and limited Reed to negative rushing yards.

The biggest turning point came early in the third quarter. Facing fourth-and-1, LSU head coach Lane Kiffin elected to take a shot downfield rather than punt. Leavitt found Harris for a 57-yard touchdown, extending the Tigers' lead to 21–3.

LSU continued to pull away from there. Landen Clark added touchdown runs of four and two yards in the second half, giving the Tigers a 35–6 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

For Texas A&M, the loss marked its second consecutive defeat after opening the season with a 2–0 record. The Aggies' offense failed to reach the end zone and finished with only 91 rushing yards.

The defeat also dropped Texas A&M out of the AP Top 25 after the Aggies entered the game ranked No. 23.

LSU's victory came one year after Texas A&M defeated the Tigers 49–25 in College Station. This time, LSU controlled the matchup from start to finish in Baton Rouge.

The Tigers will return home next week to face McNeese State, while Texas A&M will return to College Station to take on Arkansas.

Final: LSU 35, Texas A&M 6
