College football's Week 6 delivered major upsets, statement victories and significant changes to the national rankings. No. 1 Texas fell to Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry, Georgia defeated Alabama on the road, and Indiana continued its undefeated start.

With Week 7 approaching, here are the top five college football teams in the latest AP Top 25 poll, released October 11.

1. Georgia Bulldogs (6–0)

Georgia takes over the No. 1 spot after defeating Alabama 20–17 in Tuscaloosa. The Bulldogs showed their ability to win in a high-pressure environment against one of the nation's top programs.

Quarterback Gunner Stockton threw for 249 yards and a touchdown while adding a rushing score. Running back Dwight Phillips Jr. also delivered a strong performance with 120 rushing yards.

Georgia's victory gives the Bulldogs a significant boost as they continue their pursuit of a College Football Playoff appearance.

2. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (6–0)

Notre Dame remains undefeated after dominating Stanford 58–7. The Fighting Irish controlled the game on both sides of the ball, producing a convincing win heading into Week 7.

Quarterback CJ Carr threw three touchdown passes, while running back Jonaz Walton rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns, including a 97-yard scoring run.

Notre Dame's combination of offensive production and defensive consistency keeps the Fighting Irish near the top of the national rankings.

3. Miami Hurricanes (5–0)

Miami holds the third spot in the latest AP poll and remains one of the country's undefeated teams. The Hurricanes have continued to build momentum through the opening weeks of the season.

With an undefeated record and a place among the nation's top three teams, Miami will look to maintain its consistency as conference competition intensifies.

The Hurricanes' position also puts them in the conversation for a potential College Football Playoff berth if they continue winning.

4. Ohio State Buckeyes (5–1)

Ohio State stays in the top five after a commanding 45–16 victory over Maryland. The Buckeyes delivered a strong offensive performance and avoided the upset that affected several other ranked programs this weekend.

Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith continued to make an impact, helping Ohio State pull away from Maryland.

The Buckeyes will face a major test in Week 7 when they take on undefeated Indiana in a matchup that could reshape the Big Ten race.

5. Indiana Hoosiers (6–0)

Indiana rounds out the top five after defeating Nebraska 20–17 on the road. The Hoosiers survived a competitive game and preserved their undefeated record.

Indiana's ability to win away from home adds to its early-season résumé. The Hoosiers now have an opportunity to make an even bigger statement against Ohio State next week.

A victory over the Buckeyes would strengthen Indiana's position among the nation's elite programs and could have major implications for the Big Ten standings.

What to Watch in Week 7

The biggest matchup among these five teams is No. 4 Ohio State versus No. 5 Indiana. Both programs enter the game with strong records, and the result could have major consequences for the conference race and national rankings.

Notre Dame also faces a significant challenge against BYU, another undefeated team. Meanwhile, Georgia will look to build on its victory over Alabama, and Miami will aim to keep its unbeaten season going.
